I spent about five hours walking around Gooseberry Falls State Park. Most of that time it was overcast then for a brief time the clouds parted, it made for much better photography.

Gooseberry Falls State Park
A large tree cast up onto the beach in Gooseberry Falls State Park.
This ice froze the night before when the temperatures were below zero Fahrenheit. I watched it break up on the rocks as the wind blew it. Then the waves came and crashed it into the rocks.

It really helps take a shovel along when you wintercamp.
In the winter you can't stake your tent down because the ground is frozen. So you have to kick a little snow around the fly and within a short time it will hold it down even the strongest of wins.
My campsite in Temperance River State Park Minnesota.
It was actually a beautiful day to set up the tent and camp. The temperatures were warm it must've been in the 20s and it didn't get that cold during the night.
